Visit this year’s Science Rendezvous event at Ryerson University to see how chemistry can help to light up your life! Featured at this year’s event will be dynamic young Ryerson researcher, Dr. Bryan Koivisto, who — with support from ‘Engage’ and ‘Engage Plus’ Grants from Canada’s Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) — has been working with London, Ontario-based Sciencetech Inc. to develop a prototype LED solar simulator that can be tuned to match any natural lighting condition – from ambient indoor conditions to compact fluorescent lighting to bright outdoor conditions in the Arctic. This great partnership between Dr. Koivisto’s Ryerson research team and Sciencetech Inc. has been able to create an innovative technology that will help the Canadian company stay competitive in the growing solar simulation market and shine brightly in Canada and around the world.

L’évènement de cette année présente les travaux d’un jeune chercheur dynamique de Ryerson, Bryan Koivisto qui, avec l’appui d’une subvention d’engagement partenarial et d’une subvention d’engagement partenarial Plus du Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie du Canada (CRSNG), collabore avec l’entreprise Sciencetech Inc., établie à London (Ontario), pour développer un prototype de simulateur solaire à DEL qui peut être réglé pour simuler n’importe quelle condition d’éclairage naturel allant de l’éclairage intérieur ambiant à un éclairage fluorescent compact, voire aux conditions d’éclairage extérieur intense dans l’Arctique. Ce partenariat solide entre l’équipe de recherche de M. Koivisto à Ryerson et Sciencetech Inc. a été en mesure de créer une technologie novatrice qui aidera cette entreprise canadienne à demeurer concurrentielle dans le marché en expansion de la simulation solaire et à briller au Canada et dans le reste du monde.
