Highlights

Prairie Rehabilitation Wildlife Show
Location: The Quad
Hear about the amazing wildlife and rehabilitation taking place right here in our province. Meet the crew from The Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and some of their wildlife ambassadors! No tickets are necessary, but space will fill up quickly! Bring a blanket and grab a spot on the quad for this show!

Chemistry Show
Location: Armes Lecture Theatre
Young and old will be captivated by the educational experiments safely performed by our chemists in residence. Tickets will be released online 30 minutes prior to the show. Those with tickets must be in line to enter the theatre a minimum of 5 minutes before the show or their tickets will be void. A standby line is in place to fill any remaining seats. Physics Show
Location: EITC Lecture Theatre
Experience the wonder of physics from a safe distance! Beds of nails, falling objects, liquid nitrogen, and Tesla coils! You’ll never know what might appear next! Tickets will be released online 30 minutes prior to the show. Those with tickets must be in line to enter the theatre a minimum of 5 minutes before the show or their tickets will be void. Planetarium Shows
Location: University College
Don’t worry about staying up late to see the wonders of the night sky. Sit back and relax as you are led on a sky tour of some of the most popular constellations and sights in the sky. Please note that seating for the Lockhart Planetarium Theatre is extremely limited. Tickets will be released online 30 minutes prior to the show. Those with tickets must be in line to enter the theatre a minimum of 5 minutes before the show or their tickets will be void. A standby line is in place to fill any remaining seats. Sensory Friendly Planetarium Show
Location: University College
This is a special time in the planetarium set aside for those who may feel overwhelmed in a regular planetarium show. The planetarium will be quiet, the lights left on slightly, and the dome covered with a moving background of stars. Seating for the Lockhart Planetarium is extremely limited. Tickets will be released online 30 minutes prior to the show. Those with tickets must be in line to enter the theatre a minimum of 5 minutes before the show or their tickets will be void. Interactive Booth Areas
Location: University Centre, Engineering Atrium, Wallace Building, Outdoor Areas
In between all of the shows and events, we also have dozens of booths scattered across three buildings and spilling outside! Feel free to drop in and hear about robots, make slime, test your luck with Plinko or even challenge our oobleck run! Find our booths in the Engineering Atrium, University Centre, Wallace Building, and various outdoor spaces.
Time: Open all day!
No tickets are required, but some rooms have capacity limits.
Welcome Ceremony
Location: The Quad
Hear a welcome from the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Brian Mark as well as Provost and Vice-President (Academic) Dr. Diane Hiebert-Murphy. Held at 11:45 prior to the 12:00 Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Show, you’ll learn why Science Rendezvous is so important to UM and our community.

Cells to Ecosystems Tour
Location: Biological Sciences Building
Explore the diverse world of Biological Sciences in a real university lab! Try out the tools used by scientists to see the hidden worlds of cells and ecosystems.
Time: Open all day!

Cretaceous Menagerie
Location: Wallace Building
Have you ever wondered about the animals that lived in Manitoba millions of years ago? The Ed Leith Cretaceous Menagerie lets you explore the landscape, dinosaurs, and rocks, that made up our past! Enjoy a wander through the fossils and replicas collected from across North America and don’t miss the choice specimens of the R.B. Ferguson Museum of Mineralogy in the hallway outside the Cretaceous Menagerie!
Time: Open all day!

School of Art Exhibition
Location: University Centre
What to prepare
What should you bring?
- Your water bottle! We have water fountains across campus and a water bottle filling station outside.
- Since you may be outdoors for long periods, please bring sunscreen, hats, and other sun protection.
- Curiosity!
Parking
Parking is free across campus on Saturday, May 10th except for designated spots. Please note, Chancellor’s Circle will be closed to traffic. To view parking options, please visit the University of Manitoba’s Parking Services map here.
Food Options
We will have several food trucks on-site, so bring your appetite!
