Introduction

Moose Kerr School in Aklavik, Northwest Territories conducted water testing in May during Science Odyssey Week.

Participants

The highschool class of Moose Kerr in Aklavik ventured to Peel Channel with a SR travelling scientist to learn about and conduct water quality tests.

Results & Discussion

The experiment was a great success. Despite some wet shoes and sleeves, the students got a chance to learn about the different parameters used to measure water quality, how to conduct a chemical titration test, and how to analyze colorimetric changes.

Final Thoughts

We enjoyed how interactive and involved the water tests were. They allowed each student a chance to participate in the experiment and experience what it means to be a scientist.
