Introduction
Let’s Talk Science volunteers conducted water testing in Ottawa ON in Summer 2017 with a team of Indigenous high school youth from across the territories, in partnership with Northern Youth Abroad. The water samples were taken from streams around the MacSkimming Outdoor Education Centre, very close to the Ottawa River.
Participants
Indigenous High School students from the Northwest Territories, Yukon and Nunavut, with the Northern Youth Abroad Program and Let's Talk Science University Volunteers got together to learn about water quality and safety in Ottawa.
Test Location
The students and volunteers collected local water samples from shore of streams which branched off from the Ottawa River.
Testimonial
As a national, charitable organization, focused on education and outreach to support youth development, Let’s Talk Science was happy to be involved in this Canada-wide initiative. It allowed our volunteers to bring applicable science to the audiences we reach.
