Join us on this virtual journey across Canada! Each Checkpoint for this year’s virtual Science Chase is hosted on our interactive map below. The quizzes were developed by teams of volunteers and scientists from Science Rendezvous partner sites; click on the links below to get started! Come back after June 30, 2024, to see the top rankings for each quiz! We hope you learn something new and have some fun along the way!

Welcome to Science Rendezvous 2023, and our second-ever fully online Science Chase! We are so glad you are joining us today on this virtual journey across Canada.

So, how does the Science Chase work?

Make sure you have your notebook (or paper) and pencil ready to help you solve problems, take notes, and keep track of your points.
Choose a team email to use (with an adults permission) and team name, even if you’re racing by yourself. A team can be 1 person, or 20 — just make sure you enter the same email and team name at every icon quiz you go to so that your total score will be accumulated and accurate.
Go to the START icon (volcano) on the interactive map of Canada to get started.
Click the icon and follow the instructions on each kahoot quiz. The quiz will indicate which Science Chase resources you can go to to study first, or learn more after each quiz. You can find these resources at the bottom of this webpage.
Go through each challenge question by watching its corresponding video and reading its clues.
Keep track of the icons you complete on the map. You can do all 10 challenges at once, or take breaks and complete over several days. The choice is up to you! The Science Chase closes on September 30, 2023.

Science Rendezvous events take place in-person across Canada at Universities and Colleges on the day before Mother’s Day. These events are full of exciting, hands-on opportunities to explore all different kinds of science, technology, engineering, art and math activities ~ explosive shows, buskers, experiments, themed treats, and Science Chases are just a few examples.
